Volunteers needed for pre-event preparation, checking tickets and ID's, chef's runners, post-event take down and clean-up crew.

- A Celebration of the Arts for Children with Disabilities : November 6, 2007
For over ten years, students with special needs from throughout the greater Phoenix area have participated in this special half day event that includes hands-on art projects and entertainment. Volunteer jobs include:
- Project Prep Assistants : Prepare projects approximately two weeks in advance of the event. Various projects need to be partially pre-assembled and pre-cut. Seeking volunteers that can do repetitive tasks and manipulate scissors.
- Class Guides: On day of event, assist teachers by escorting students to various art stations located around the grounds. Seeking outgoing volunteers with the ability to read a map and walk through the park with the classes.
- Artwork Assistants: On day of event, assist the children with art projects. No special skills or art talent necessary; just seeking friendly, patient volunteers for this very rewarding experience.

- Scottsdale Arts Festival - March 7-9, 2008

The Scottsdale Arts Festival, Scottsdale's oldest, continuous arts festival, celebrates its 37th Anniversary in 2007. The Festival, routinely ranked as one of the top arts festivals in the nation, features, visual and cultural entertainment including up to 200 juried artists from all over the country, performances, children's activities and a variety of culinary treats. Proceeds directly benefit the Scottsdale Cultural Council's educational programs.

- Scottsdale Culinary Festival - April 12- 13, 2008
The Scottsdale League for the Arts and the Scottsdale Cultural Council
invite you to volunteer for the 29th Annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival.
Our signature event, the Great Arizona Picnic, provides fun opportunities
for volunteering and tasting the Valley’s finest culinary and beverage
delights. Proceeds from the Festival benefit arts and arts education
programs throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Come join in the fun on
one of our teams:
- Entrance Gates - Be the first to greet Festival guests with a smile and a friendly attitude. Volunteers collect admission fees, distribute programs, answer questions and make guests feel welcome. Must be able to work on your feet all day, be quick with your hands and be able to handle a busy atmosphere.
- Beverage Booths - Volunteers who enjoy a fast-paced environment will enjoy a shift or two in our beverage booths serving soft drinks, beer and wine. You must enjoy working with the public, be able to work on your feet and be at least 19 years of age.

An Action-packed evening featuring an 8K Run, walks, Art Stroll, 1-Mile Fun Run, 3-Mile Walk/Run, 8K, musical entertainment and awards. Seeking volunteers who can assist with registration, end-of-race food line, and clean-up crew. Volunteers must be able to stand for up to three hours, lift up to 10 lbs and tolerate heat

Education Committee
The SCPA Education department has a variety of volunteer needs. Seeking a handful of volunteers that can dedicate time on a regular basis.
Daytime, evenings, weekends.
- Outreach Assistants : Participate in our nationally recognized youth outreach program
- Children's Area Assistant: Help with set-up, art projects and maintenance during Sunday A'Fair and Art's Festival.
- Installation Assistant : Help install exhibitions of student art work in our galleries throughout the year. Looking for detail oriented volunteer that can paint, hammer, etc.
- Special Event Planners: There are opportunities to help plan exhibit openings which require event planning skills, logistical and administrative support, and creative input.
Mailing Group
Working through the Development and Marketing Departments, this committee meets an average of twice a month to stuff, seal and sort mailings ranging from 200 to over 2,000 pieces.
Thursday mornings .
Membership
Discuss Membership opportunities and benefits with visitors before performances, at intermission, and during other events. On-going training and orientation will be provided.
Museum Store
Volunteers assist in selling and merchandising in the Gift Stores. Seeking volunteers who like a retail environment. Ideal candidates will be able to stand for a four-hour shift, be friendly, outgoing, well-groomed, dependable, detail oriented, enthusiastic and enjoy working with the public. Although not necessary, previous retail experience is preferable.
Daytime, evenings, weekends .
Office Assistant
Assist staff in maintaining records, typing, sorting, filing, copying, phoning, researching, etc., where needed. Computer knowledge is very helpful.
Mostly daytime ; occasional opportunity to work from home.
Patron Services
Greet the public at a variety of events and performances; give information, directions and help promote the Center for the Performing Arts.
Daytime, evenings, weekends .
Ushering
Take tickets, distribute programs and direct the public to reserved seats for the numerous cultural events sponsored by the Center, both indoors and outdoors. A two-hour annual orientation is required to review the responsibilities of ushering.
Gift Store Representative
Volunteers assists incoming performing groups to sell their merchandise, including CD's, DVD, t-shirts, books, photos and more. Volunteering spans from pre-show to post show. Candidates need to be quick, friendly and efficient with cash or credit card transactions.
